Julian brings over 25 years of industry experience to the team and his role in estimation.
He began working for a major paint supplier before joining the contracting field and serving in various capacities, including estimator, BDM, project manager and commercial manager.
Appreciating the process of refurbishing a building, from site inspection and providing a comprehensive quotation to witnessing the end result of a building brought back to life, Julian brings a genuine passion to his work.
When reflecting on career highlights, Julian is proud of succeeding in a previous role to bring a business and team back to a positive position after years of ups and downs.
“The improvement in safety has been a huge step forward in the industry. Gone are the days of triple-extension ladders. Generally, I feel that painting contractors, as a whole, have become more professional. Going forward, compliance with the recent building regulations with regard to strata works will be challenging. We are compliant; however, we cannot guarantee that competitors are – or plan to be.”
Julian loves the teamwork atmosphere at Dukes and that it’s a positive place to work. When he’s not on the job, he enjoys riding his motorbike, and once upon a time, he was even a ballroom dancer.
