Dean Gilbert

With over a decade of experience in the painting and decorating industry, Dean has built an impressive career spanning residential, commercial, retail and strata projects.

He holds a Certificate III in Painting and Decorating and honed his skills during an apprenticeship where he was recognised as a Master Painters Apprentice of the Year.

Dean has taken on various roles, including Painter, Foreman, Supervisor, and Project Manager, and specialises in hand-applied trowel finishes. He enjoys the dynamic nature of the industry, noting significant improvements over the years, especially in health and safety. Dean hopes to see more young people entering the industry.

About working at Dukes, he says, “There’s nothing better than being part of a great team surrounded by hard-working people with a real passion for the industry.”

Outside of work, Dean is a loyal Sydney Swans supporter and never misses a game. When he’s not cheering on his team or watching horse racing at the pub, he’s often in the kitchen perfecting his American BBQ. Fun fact: Dean is also a twin!
