Court Building, Sydney

Lead paint project

Project value: $40K

Dukes undertook a lead paint remediation project for a court building in Sydney, commencing in 2022 and overcoming some delays due to heritage approvals.

Concept

The full project scope included stripping lead paint from one wall, followed by repairs and repainting to prevent lead paint from entering public spaces. This meticulous work became imperative as the existing lead paint was flaking, posing a potential risk to the public.

Positioned six stories up on a narrow CBD ledge, we safely installed scaffolding to access and complete tasks, including lead paint stripping, wall neutralisation, render repair, negative waterproofing coating and wall repainting. Finally, we removed the scaffolding.

We executed this extremely high-risk project without encountering a single issue and achieved a high-quality finish.

“Firstly I would like to pass on my gratitude and thanks to the Dukes team at the completion of the South Façade Project works. The works commenced in 2022 and encountered several delays due to heritage approvals and complexities of the works and location.

With the collaborative approach of Dukes, we managed to deliver the project without any work health and safety issues. The trial run of the scaffolding erection in the Dukes warehouse showed the detail of requirements for the project that would have a safety first mentality at all times.

I would like to pay a special mention to your Project Manager, Scott, who took ownership of all works related to the delivery of the south façade project. His advice and professionalism in dealing with our HSEQ team to deliver a safety first attitude for the project was second to none.

I would like wish Dukes a bright future and successful growth moving forward.”
